The Real Deal Democrats grades are in!
Unfortunately, our Arkansas Democratic legislators averaged only a C grade in the most recent session.
This unacceptable grade further underscores why Democrats need to stop accepting corporate money/bribes. Corporate contributions influence our legislators in negative ways, and we must stop accepting these bribes if we ever want to win a majority in Arkansas again.
We track all state legislative activity and assign grades to each Democratic senator and representative of the 95th General Assembly. Here’s how the grading works:
5 points for sponsoring an RDD-related priority bill (click here to learn more about RDD priorities)
5 points for voting the RDD way on a priority act or vetoed bill
1 point for voting the RDD way on an act, vetoed bill, or proposed constitutional amendment
After a thorough review of all 1,026 acts, three vetoed bills, four constitutional amendments that had floor votes, and bills sponsored by Democratic legislators, the average score was 1,016 out of 1,293 possible points for a grade of 79% (that’s a C grade in most public schools). We must do better next session.
